R. Kelly has had plenty of trouble with the law but there’s no denying his “freaky” music. It always set the mood! I picked some of my R. Kelly favorites.

As you already know: I live, I learn, I love, I am…Che’. I love music, the arts, and random crap. Most of my blogs will be about music, if you don’t know about music, perfect!!!! You can Learn! Even if you do know a lil' sumthin', you may agree, disagree, or even leave my page if you’d like :).
There will be different music topics such as “one hit wonders”, "fav quotes" “remember???” “new music reviews”, “guilty pleasures” and tons more. I will cover almost every genre of music, from Old Skool R&B to Country. I also watch TV and Movies when I can and will comment about something that really grabs my attention or something you ask me to watch.
I’ve never been the one to cry when it comes to non-relative and friends dying (except in a good movie). I didn’t cry when Aaliyah, Left Eye, Tupac, or any celebrities passing….
After the “Heal the World” performance during the Michael Jackson Memorial Service on Tuesday, I saw Janet and MJ’s children on stage. Marlon (his brother) gave Janet the microphone, so I though she was going to speak, but instead she lowered it to Paris Katherine Jackson and from her first words “Ever since I was born…” I began to tear, “Daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine. And I just wanted to say I love him so much." she told the audience, before breaking down in tears. At that moment, I felt her pain and even ten minutes later, I was still crying like a little baby.
With that being said, I dedicate my first Blog entry to Michael Joseph Jackson -The Greatest Entertainer of All Time.
Watching CNN last Thursday threw me for a loop when I heard of Michael Jackson’s death. I couldn’t believe it. Although I didn’t cry, I still felt sad. I thought of all the things that he’d been through, the good music he created, awesome dance moves, videos, movies, outstanding stage performances, and his hope to “Heal The World.”
As I continued watching MJ’s death coverage on various news stations and Internet websites, I became upset at the media for broadcasting and posting negative aspects of Michaels’ life. They tried to tear him down even in death. Every story had something to be said about his “allegations” and how he was “weird.”
The didn’t talk about the MJ that:
-had the first African American music video played on MTV
-set high standards for short films and music videos
-broke through racial barriers around the globe
-was a humanitarian for Africa, AIDS, and Children
…and so much more
Instead, the media wanted to focus on what happened to his body, and brain from his childhood to his allegations.
Regardless of all the things that tabloids report about MJ, I still loved him. I’ve never met him but I knew him. “To know a person is to know their heart” and he put his heart into his music. He was a musical genius, produced and wrote most of his music and emptied his heart and soul into every song since the age of five.
I played his albums immediately following his death announcement. I didn’t have to rush to the store to buy a CD because as true MJ fan, I already had them. Words can’t explain what MJ’s music meant to so may people and why songs such as“Man in the Mirror” “Heal the World” “The Earth Song” and “We Are the World” has the ability to make you want to do get up and do something and can bring a tear to the eyes of so many people around the globe and myself as well. How can we explain how millions of people can hear the first beats of “Billie Jean” “Beat It” and “Thriller” and know the dance moves? Who else can bring you “Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough” and “Rock With You” and make you, your mother, grandmother, and even small children groove like it was just released? NOONE!
Although we lost Michael’s body, we still have his soul and music forever. It will never be lost. If I ever had a chance to meet him one day, it would be to say “thank you Michael for blessing us with your words.”
